Tout a commencé en 1975, à 20 ans, Michel fait l’achat de sa première voiture sport; un Road Runner 1971 quatre vitesses. Dès les premières années, l’engouement de l’accélération est présent, il se dirige à Napierville et Sanair plusieurs fois par année.

En 1980 Michel change de plan, il achète une voiture de drag sur une remorque soit un Plymouth Valliant 1967. Avec le Valliant Michel rapporte plusieurs événements prestigieux à Napierville ainsi que deux championnats. En 1989, il remporte son premier Wally dans la classe S/G au Grand National Molson à Sanair. En 1992, Michel passe aux choses sérieuses, il achète un châssis Pro Stock de Jerry Bickel et construit la Daytona avec son ami Richard Poudrier. En 1993, il compétitionne dans la classe S/C. En 1999 il transitionne vers la classe Top Sportsman, dans cette classe il remporte plusieurs événements dans une série au New England Dragway à Epping, New Hampshire. En 2023, Michel fini 2e au Mopar National Reading, PA et 1er dans la série très populaire aux États-Unis: YellowBullet National. Il remporte également ses 2e et 3e Wally dans la série John Scotti en 2019 et 2024 à Napierville.

Après plus de 50 ans de course, il est toujours soutenu et encouragé par sa femme qui est son “Crew” no 1, la belle Diane. ❤️

It all started in 1975. At 20 years old, Michel bought his first sports car: a 1971 Road Runner with a four-speed. From the very beginning, his passion for acceleration was present, he headed to Napierville and Sanair several times a year.

In 1980, Michel changed plans and bought a drag car on a trailer, a 1967 Plymouth Valiant. With the Valiant, Michel brought home several prestigious events at Napierville as well as two championships. In 1989, he won his first Wally in the S/G class at the Molson Grand National in Sanair. In 1992, Michel got serious, he bought a Pro Stock chassis from Jerry Bickel and built the Daytona with his friend Richard Poudrier. In 1993, he competed in the S/C class. In 1999, he transitioned to the Top Sportsman class, where he won multiple events in a series at New England Dragway in Epping, New Hampshire. In 2023, Michel finished 2nd at the Mopar Nationals in Reading, PA, and 1st in the very popular YellowBullet Nationals series in the United States. He also won his 2nd and 3rd Wallys in the John Scotti series in 2019 and 2024 at Napierville.

After more than 50 years of racing, he is still supported and encouraged by his wife, his No. 1 crew member, the lovely Diane. ❤️
